Descend 130 meters (500 feet) into the heart of an ancient volcanic crater in the highlands of Isabela Island. This thrilling rappel takes you into the inner chambers of a long-extinct volcano, where you’ll discover untouched quartz crystals, petrified lichens, and witness the astonishing geological evolution of a volcano that last erupted 600,000 years ago.
After the descent, climb back to the surface and hike along the rim of “Los Trillizos”—three connected volcanoes. From this safe and scenic viewpoint, you’ll observe deep volcanic tunnels while soaking in breathtaking panoramic views of the Galápagos coast and ocean.
